end of play... For now!
...and Sink pours itself a Margarita
the score as it stands on the penultimate round is as such (exciting!):
DoD 139, Porch 133, TV 121, Sloth 104, and Sink 88.
Be careful Domino of Dominance, your demise is showing!

Oh no! |
Porch wins the round, but in a surprise twist of fate, Sloth scores a whopping 72 points, alas.
Stay tuned, the game goes on (some day, somewhere) with only four players standing. Or sitting.

continue with Round 5
Okay, round 5, the double-three round, and our host with the most, Sloth (67), takes the lead away from Sink (78). This is a good time for snacks! It's big scores after that and Porch is in last with 113.
And finally, Domino of Dominance, after a rough start with no starting tile, captures a second desperate win (109). Scores are tight, with Porch at 117 and Sink narrowly in the lead (88). Sloth is contemplating a cookie break.

on to round 3 and 4!
Big round, exciting too! The 3rd turns out some high scores, as Sink (53) rolls over the competition, and takes a narrow lead.
Oh no! Phone!

The semi-annual Mexican Train Tournament!
Get ready for some heated play, the DoD won't hold any punches!
Domino of Dominance, that is! So, in striking form the DoD starts the games out with a win.
Is this a portent of The Future? Watch, as Sloth keeps a keen eye on the scores.
Round 2 turns out some lower scores, as Porch flips over his final tile first. Sloth takes a bath with 30, but he's still in the hunt. The DoD retains the lead, though, with a minimal score of 13.
Sloth thinks this is thirsty work, he trails by 17 points. TV tops out with a whopping 60!

Found a Big Rock
"Well, judging just from the picture, it looks like those red chunks are banded, not foliated as a crystal, but it may be a pegmatitic granite. It's that or a conglomerate sedimentary rock that was metamorphosed"

Tales of The Relic
The Relic, in Despair
Earlier in my hike, I had gone along the slippery creek bank looking for The Relic. It had been years since I had ventured so far into these woods and couldn't remember where it was exactly. Not finding it, I crossed the creek and hiked for a while on the other side, eventually coming back to cross. I spotted The Relic from across the stream. It had shifted from the steep hill down to the creek bank, covered in leaves and sprouting grass and small plants.
The Field of Detritus
The hillside. The Relic used to be up near the discarded building materials between the two trees. Years earlier, with help, I had attempted to free The Relic of this dubious resting place. The effort was doomed to failure. Time, weather, and gravity had done the rest.
The Creek of Futility
The path to The Relic comes from up the right side of the creek. Much of the path has worn away, so The Relic can only be reached by slipping along the bank and skipping from rock to rock. It is slippery and treacherous. Beyond this point there are gaps in the path to jump across and fallen trees. Seems there is very little use of this section of woods anymore.
The power of The Relic!
Here is The Relic, cleaned up a little. It wasn't easy to access. You can see how close it is to the water, probably gets submerged during heavy rain. It's a mystery, The Relic. Who can solve it?
